Design + Science + Art + Business = Me

I'm a Ukrainian woman with a non-linear career path and a wide range of skills to draw from.

1. Design
I've been involved in design for over 11 years, spanning various fields including fashion, catalogs, logos, content, branding and advertising. Design is everything. With a good and convenient design, we improve lives and influence events.

Since 2020, I've fully immersed myself first in UX and from 2022 in UI Design at Figma. And now I`m thoroughly enjoying it.
2. Science

UX skills and understanding of human behavior.

In 2021, I defended my dissertation in psychology and earned a PhD. Research is my passion and approach to any question. I take part in scientific conferences and in 2015, I won a science slam with one of my research projects.
3. Art

Creativity and passion.

I spent 6 years as a ballet artist at the National Odesa Theater of Opera and Ballet. I`m shot a film and acted in films, created and took part in many other modern art projects and had worked in show business. I have a passion for painting walls and creating designer products for homes, finished music school in piano and write poetry and stories from time to time.
4. Business

Experience in business, management and advertising.

Before the war, I managed several businesses in Ukraine. These were: the small private dance school, a designer clothing manufacturing venture JackCat, and the Fairytale-art house by the sea for retreats. I also had experience in the restaurant and automotive industries, show and event business. Since February 24, 2022, I left the country, remotely froze my business, and transitioned to working exclusively as a remote UX/UI designer.

Why User Experience Design?

Science

2008 - 2021

I have been researching creative thinking, participating in scientific conferences, and on September 21, 2021, I defended my dissertation and received a scientific degree.

My approach was theoretical, empirical, and practical, which included organizing marathons. I produced a short film titled "Improvisation" featuring user interviews and choreographed sequences.

2015

I won a science slam with one of my research, presenting in front of an audience of five hundred specialists.

Family

Dad is a professor of psychology, mother is a mathematician-programmer. So, since childhood, I was used to pass various tests, analyze information, at the age of 5 I read Kant and quoted Plato.

My 4 business experience and approach

Analysis, research, feeling what people need, strategy, solving problems, implementation.

1. Reissuance of bank loans and car sales.

2008 - 2012

  • Who and how sells cars.
    What do people need?
    Current market situation.

  • 1. Most car loans were in dollars.
    2. The exchange rate doubled, which caused people to be unable to pay their loans.
    3. Banks were prohibited from issuing car loans.
    4. There were people who wanted to buy cars on credit.

  • So we started working with banks and reissuing loans from those who were unable to pay to those who wanted to buy a car on credit by returning part of the money to the previous owner.

  • We were the first on the market to work with banks and clients in this way. The phones rang non-stop, all parties satisfied, significant profit.

2. ARP Studio. Corporate uniform, design and tailoring.

2009 - 2014

  • Market analysis.
    Analysis of competitors.
    User interviews with business owners.
    Research of production possibilities, strategy.

  • Inability to buy ready-made clothes for staff, especially for cooks and waiters.
    Very different sizes.
    Custom tailoring is very expensive.
The desire for a special design corresponding to the institution's brand.

  • Tailoring of uniforms in the factory, with factory prices, small batches with individualization of color and personalized details.

  • Grateful regular customers.
    Monetary profit.
We were also first to market in this strategy. Because we worked directly with business owners and small factories. The standard strategy was either factory tailoring and sales in specialized stores, or an atelier with individual tailoring.

3. Jack Cat, Designer clothes.

2015 - 2022

  • Market analysis. User interviews with clients of Ukrainian designers and supporters of international mass market brands, fashion designers and large manufacturers.

  • The cessation of trade with the RF, the rise of love and fashion for Ukrainian production within the country. Demand for Ukrainian designer clothes. The exchange rate difference made it cheaper to make clothes domestically.

  • Create a designer clothing brand with factory tailoring (price) but customized details and fabric (customization). Also hire several people for personal private tailoring. Find all possible sales markets, online and multi-brand stores.

  • Significant profits and customer appreciation. Beautiful and versatile jackets in my wardrobe.

4. Tabata Yoga Tor, mobile application.

2020 - 2024

  • Market analysis of sports applications. Conducting live broadcasts with training and communication with participants. User interviews after broadcasts.

  • Quarantine due to Corona virus. All gyms are closed, people's desire to exercise in the fresh air offline, to maintain health. The problem of health deterioration is not only due to the coronavirus, excess weight, back pain, the need for both cardio load and mental balance.

  • Customer wishes. Take a break from mental stress and exercise a little while taking care of your body. To have someone guide you through training.

  • Personal pocket trainer. Make a video app and connect people in the community. Training is alive, not with a robot. Timer, short workouts that can be done offline. Ability to set time and create personal workouts. The ability to choose training directly to solve the problem: back pain, lung training, rejuvenation, weight loss... Cardio load, yoga, self-massage.

  • The app works, but I lost the developer due to a divorce and then came across a scammer when I was trying to find someone to complete the app based on the finished design.

  • Community of 7,300 members. They use and thank me for the free version of the application. Charity without profit.
